ARCHITECTURE
THE MARKET CAFE
Cardiff
A proposal for a small coffee shop to occupy a disused market stall in Cardiff Central Market.
The architecture of the café is simple with clean lines, celebrating the simple palette of materials and indulging in the qualities of the timber used. The design was particularly inspired by the work of Segison Bates.
A key aspect of the project was to develop, design and present the project in conjunction with key one drawing. Using a fish eye perspective drawn in graphite, I represented a panorama of the design within the context of the market. Time is shown in the changing atmosphere of the market over the course of one day.
