SCOLAR LIBRARY EXTENSION

Cardiff

A five day long charrette for the design of an extension to the Arts and Social Science Library of Cardiff University.

The new extension is to hold the SCOLAR collection of the university – the rare books collection. The design is structured to create a special and protected space for the collection, as well as providing a pleasant working environment for visiting academics. The design is inspired by the work of David Chipperfield, as well as the Finnish Embassy in Berlin.
